CaptureGem Supported Sites

Built-in Sites

CaptureGem has 24 built-in site options, including VR. These match the site picker in the desktop app. Use the latest version of CaptureGem for recently added sites.

Paste a supported room URL, confirm the selected site, and click Add Stream. You can also select a site manually and enter the model's username or the identifier described in its guide. Select StripchatVR explicitly for Stripchat VR streams. TangoMe uses a stream ID; Bigo TV uses a BIGO ID; Superlive uses a numeric profile ID or supported profile/livestream URL.

For XCams, use CaptureGem 2.14.9 or later and complete any access or sign-in steps in the XCams window opened by the desktop app, then retry recording. See the XCams recording guide for details.

For ManyVids, use CaptureGem 2.14.11 or later and paste the creator's ManyVids Live room URL, or enter the room handle that follows /live/cam/ in it. See the ManyVids recording guide for details.

Site support is available in both Free and Premium; recording limits and automation features depend on your plan. See the plan comparison.

Other Sites (via Streamlink)

CaptureGem also supports recording from any site supported by Streamlink by selecting Other Site from the dropdown and pasting the full stream URL. Streamlink currently supports 200+ streaming services. Below is the complete list of plugins, grouped by category.

Major Streaming & Video Platforms

Live Streaming & Gaming

Art & Creative

News & Global Media

European Public TV

Turkish TV

Latin American TV

Asian TV

Middle East & Africa

Sports & Entertainment

Other Platforms

For the complete and most up-to-date list of supported sites, visit the official Streamlink plugins page. Streamlink may also open some direct stream links, such as an HLS playlist URL ending in .m3u8, but this isn't guaranteed. CaptureGem accepts only links that start with http:// or https://.

How to Record from Other Sites

1. Select Other Site from the site dropdown (or just paste a URL and CaptureGem will auto-detect it)
2. Paste the full stream URL (e.g. https://www.twitch.tv/username)
3. Click Add Stream

CaptureGem will use Streamlink to handle the recording. The recording is saved in your configured output directory in the format chosen in the Saved Video Format setting (MP4 by default, or MKV).

Live Streams vs. Videos

• Live streams (e.g. a Twitch channel that is currently live) record until the stream ends or you stop the recording. Like other recordings, they are split at the Cap Video Segments at Duration (Minutes) setting (60 minutes by default, 5 minutes in the free version). With Premium and an auto-record option such as Consecutive, a new part starts after each split.
• Videos (VODs): when Streamlink reports a link only as a plain HTTP download, CaptureGem downloads it as one video and sets the model's auto-record to None, so it isn't downloaded again. Videos that Streamlink offers as HLS or DASH streams are treated like live streams, so set their auto-record to None yourself if you don't want them downloaded again. A video longer than the recording length setting is cut off at that length.

Notes

• Some sites may require the stream to be live for recording to start. If the stream is offline, CaptureGem will report it as offline
• If Streamlink can't open the link for any reason, including network or certificate (SSL) errors, CaptureGem also shows the stream as Offline. If a stream you know is live stays Offline, check the link in a browser and your internet connection
• The "Monitor" feature works with other sites too -- it records at the lowest quality for live preview purposes and deletes the data when monitoring ends
