CaptureGemHow to Record From StripchatVR: A Quick Guide
Record available StripchatVR live streams with the CaptureGem desktop app. This guide explains which URL or identifier to use and how to find your saved video.
1. Download or update CaptureGem
Download the latest CaptureGem, open the app, and choose an output folder in Settings. Site support is included in both Free and Premium; see the plan comparison for recording limits and automatic recording features.
2. Choose the stream
Open the broadcaster's live page on StripchatVR. An example URL format is https://stripchat.com/model_username. Replace the example identifier with the one from the actual room.
Paste the model room URL or enter the username, then explicitly select StripchatVR. Stripchat and StripchatVR share a domain, so pasting the URL alone can select regular Stripchat.
3. Add the stream
In CaptureGem's Add Stream section, paste the URL or identifier and check the site selection. Turn off Monitor Only if you want to save a recording, then click Add Stream. Check the recording row to confirm it starts; an offline or unavailable stream will not immediately produce a video.
StripchatVR recording notes
The model must be broadcasting a VR stream. Choose regular Stripchat for non-VR shows. For playback, open the saved video in a VR-capable player and select the projection and stereo settings appropriate to the stream.
4. Stop and review the recording
Use the recording controls to stop when you have the footage you want. Allow processing to finish, then open Review to play the saved video or open its folder. You can adjust recording length and quality in Settings before the next recording.
If recording fails, check that the same room has an available public stream in your browser, confirm the identifier and selected site, and update CaptureGem. If the problem continues, include the error shown in CaptureGem when contacting support.
