Record Cam Sites With CaptureGem

The high performance desktop app for cam recording

Overview of the CaptureGem Settings

In this guide we will discuss the various CaptureGem settings and what they mean.

Basic Settings

Auto Record All Newly Added Models

When enabled, this will auto record models whenever they come online, and also restart recordings after any disconnections.

Enable Chaturbate Rate Limit Bypass

When enabled, this will add Chaturbate headers to CaptureGem to bypass rate limiting and other recording errors. This is only available for Chaturbate. This setting is highly recommended for Chaturbate users.

Enable Proxy

This is a legacy setting that is no longer used for Chaturbate recording. We recommend using the Chaturbate Rate Limit Bypass setting instead.

Enable Anonymous Error Reporting

This will report all severe errors to our remote database for remote error tracking, and this helps improve the software.

Cap Videos at Duration

Set the max duration of videos. Note that the exact duration will also change based on video length variability. If you change this setting, it only applies to future recordings and not any currently active ones.

Minimum Disk Space for Recording

Set the minimum disk space as a percentage to record your videos. If your available disk space falls below this, all active recordings will stop. You can change this setting to -1 to disable. The disk space check looks at the drive associated with your video output directory.

After Auto Record/Monitor Expiry

Choose what to do after a model in recording or monitoring state with "Expiry" set reaches its duration.

Advanced Settings

Enable Review Feature

Whether the review feature should be enabled or not. Note that when it is enabled, it will take more processing power after videos finish recording to create the thumbnail grids.

Enable Monitor Feature

Whether the monitor feature should be enabled or not. This allows you to see a live preview of the recording as it is happening.

Filename Format

This sets the format of the filename for your recordings in terms of the name, date, and site.

Stripchat API Domain

This sets the domain to use for Stripchat API requests. Some domains do not work depending on your region.

Auto Delete Recordings Below Duration

Set the duration in seconds to automatically delete recordings that are below this duration.

Snooze Recording Duration

Set the duration in seconds to snooze a recording. This will prevent the recording from being recorded again for the duration of the snooze. The recordings will revert to the previous recording or monitoring state after the snooze.

Temporary Auto Record Duration

Set the duration in seconds to temporarily auto record a model for "Record with Expiry" or "Monitor with Expiry" settings. After the duration, the state will revert to what was configured in the "After Auto Record/Monitor Expiry" setting.

Live Monitor Refresh Delay (seconds)

This sets the delay between generating new previews in the Monitor tab. Note that the Monitor tab only actively generates previews when you have the tab open in the user interface.

Network Timeout (seconds)

This changes the max time that an HTTP request can take to finish, as well as the max time before a recording receives new data, before it is considered a timeout. If a timeout occurs based on this setting, the active recording will end and a new one will try to start.

Wait Time Variability (%)

This sets a random fluctuation in the wait time before starting a new recording. This allows you to space out new recordings to reduce the change of being rate limited by cam sites.

Video Length Variability (%)

This sets a random range as a percentage of how long the recordings will be.

Offline Retry Wait Time (seconds)

This sets the amount of time to attempt a new recording after a model is offline or in private. Note that this will only happen if Auto Record is set to enabled.

Error Retry Wait Time (seconds)

This sets the amount of time to attempt a new recording after a model is omitted the errored state. Note that this will only happen if Auto Record is set to enabled.

Directory Settings

Video Save Location

Change the directory you wish to save your final recordings to after they are done processing. Note that while they are recording, some temp disk space is used which may be on another drive than the output directory (see Temporary Files Location below).

Temporary Files Location

Change the directory you wish to save your temp recordings to while they are being recorded. This is where the video is saved before it is processed and moved to the final save location.

Metadata Files Location

Change the directory you wish to save your metadata files to. This is where the metadata files are saved for each recording.

Open Settings Folder

This will open the settings folder in your file explorer. This is where the CaptureGem folder is located.
